"We Hold These Truths: the Meaning of the Declaration of Independence"
A talk titled "We Hold These Truths: the Meaning of the Declaration of
Independence" will be presented on July 1, 7:00 - 8:00 pm at the St. James
Community Center. This talk features professional narration of the
Declaration of Independence, along with illustrations from the National
Archives of events leading up to the writing and adoption of the
Declaration. It will explain the reasons which caused our Founders to
declare their separation from Great Britain, and how those reasons still
apply to America today. It will mention the three signers of the Declaration
of Independence from North Carolina, and what became of them after signing
the Document. Come learn about this historic event which created the United
States of America.
