Brunswick Town DAR Chapter Highly Recommends Richard M. Powell as a Guest Speaker

Trying to find guest speakers for DAR meetings can be a difficult task. Below is some information about an excellent guest speaker named Richard M. Powell. Mr. Powell was a guest speaker at our Brunswick Town DAR chapter twice. Both times at a September meeting just in time to celebrate Constitution Week. He does an excellent job.  You will find his resume very impressive. The great part is he will travel to any DAR chapter meeting throughout the state of North Carolina.
 Richard M. Powell
I specialize in giving historically accurate and entertaining talks about the founding of America. My talks focus on the making of the Declaration of Independence, the Revolutionary War, and the creation and ratification of the Constitution.

I use recorded music, artwork from the National Archives, original source documents, and the recorded voices of such famous founders at James Madison, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, John Adams and Abigail Adams to make these presentations come alive and be inspirational to any audience.

The title of some of my talks are:
  * We Hold These Truths: The Meaning of the Declaration of Independence
  *  From Lexington to Yorktown: The Fight for Independence
  *  Miracle in Philadelphia: The Making of the Constitution
  *  The Voice of the People:  Ratifying the Constitution in the States
  *  The Framers" Gift: Restoring the Constitution using Article V
  *  The Better Half:  Influential Women in Colonial America
  *  Turning Points:  The Revolutionary War in the Carolinas
Other talks can be created to suit your particular interest. There is no fee for any of these talks.

The length of these talks can be tailored to fit your group's time limits, from twenty minutes to sixty minutes, or longer with an intermission. They can also be scheduled as a series of talks, in historical or topical sequence. I am available for extra discussion after each talk.

These talks have been given to such groups as the Southport - Oak Island Kiwanis Club, Southport Trinity United Methodist Church Mens Club, St. James Community Center , and We The People of NC. I have given talks to The Brunswick town and The Battle of Rockfish Chapters of the NSDAR. I am also scheduled to talk to The Carolina Patriots Chapter in Mt. Olive in September, 2017.

I tutor high school students on the Constitution, and I have been a Judge for two years in the American Legion Constitution Oratorical Contest.

Call, write, or e-mail me if you want to schedule any of these presentations.
