CHAPEL HILL DAR- MEMORIAL DAY DAVIE POPLAR CHAPTER PREPARED AND DELIVERED POCKET FLAGS FOR VETERANS

Chapel Hill DAR supports Veterans through their active VA Hospital programs and for Memorial Day 2015 prepared and delivered "Pocket Flags" to Veterans at VFW Post 6, Chapel Hill, and to those observing Memorial Day at the Preserve in Chatham County. Each tiny Pocket Flag is painstakingly folded and then placed into a little bag with the Stars showing. Chapel Hill DAR has presented all the Veterans in the VA Hospital with these symbols of thanks and appreciation. Pocket Flags are small American Flags that are folded and placed in small plastic bags. These "Pocket Flats" can be carried in a shirt or pants pocket. They are reminders of our Nation and what it stands for. Many active duty servicemen and women carry them as reminders of a grateful Nation. This small gesture resonated with military members and Americans alike.
