DAR Good Citizen Award Presented at April 10th Meeting

On April 10, 2013 the Brunswick Town Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution recognized the winners of four Brunswick County High Schools' Good Citizen Award.

The DAR Good Citizens Award and Scholarship contest is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship. This award recognizes and rewards individuals who possess good citizenship qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism in their homes, schools and communities. These students are selected by their teachers and peers because they demonstrate these qualities to an outstanding degree.

All four of the DAR Good Citizens have excellent grades, plan to attend college, and are active leaders in their school and community.  Each received a certificate, pin, and $50.

Lillian Willis was selected by West Brunswick High School. Her essay was also selected to represent Brunswick Town Chapter in the regional DAR scholarship contest. Lillian graciously agreed to read her award winning essay at the meeting on April 10. She received an additional $50 award.

Steven Thomas represents South Brunswick High School. Cameron Czuprynski was selected by Brunswick Early College High School. Victoria Mitchell is the DAR Good Citizen for North Brunswick High School.

Congratulations to the Good Citizens and best of luck to them as they continue their education.
