Wreaths Across America

In 2013,  Wreaths Across America and a national network of volunteers laid over 420,000 memorial wreaths at over 800 locations in the United States and beyond.  They accomplished this with help from 1,382 fundraising groups, many corporate contributions, and donations of trucking, shipping, and thousands of helping hands. The annual pilgrimage from Harrington, Maine to Arlington National Cemetery is know as the world's largest veteran's parade, stopping at schools, monuments, veteran's homes and communities all along the way to remind people how important it is to remember, honor and teach.   Proceeds place a wreath at one of the participating cemeteries. The local Wreaths Across America Ceremony will take place on Saturday, December 14th at the National Cemetery in Wilmington, NC.  The local Brunswick Town Chapter of the Daughters of American Revolution in conjunction with the NCDAR3105 will be organizing this event.  If you would like more information or to purchase a wreath for $15 contact Fran Carlsen at 910.253-9131.
