Brunswick Town Chapter Donates Books to Ten Elementary Schools in Brunswick County, NC

In the picture the book selection committee, Norma Eckard, Historian, Diane Price, Genealogical Records Chair and Jackie Craft, DAR Regent, are preparing the books for delivery to the schools.
For the second year in a row during the season of gift giving the Brunswick Town Chapter of the National Society of the DAR is contributing four historical biographies to the libraries of the ten elementary schools in Brunswick County, NC.  In addition, by donating these books the daughters are commemorating Celebrate America, a major theme and focus of Lynn Forney Young, the National DAR President General. This year the focus is on famous women in history, namely, Abigail Adams, Rosa Parks, Eleanor Roosevelt and Harriet Tubman.  Last year the daughters commemorated several of the Founding Fathers, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin and also Daniel Boone ( a NC local hero).
