Mayor Brochure Signs Constitution Week Proclamation

Oak Island Mayor Cin Brochure recently signed a Proclamation commemorating the 230th anniversary of the signing of the United States Constitution to be displayed in the Oak Island Town Hall. The Proclamation is part of the Brunswick Town Chapter of the NSDAR's Constitution Week Celebration. DAR Meeting, Wednesday, October 11th at Brunswick Electric on Rt. 17

Hello Ladies,

The chapter meeting is this Wednesday, October 11th at Brunswick Electric on Rt. 17, Supply with the meeting to begin at 10 AM. Come early to socialize, pay your dues and pick up your yearbook. The program will be presented by Pat Sykes “Charters of Freedom”

November 11th Meeting. We will have a luncheon provided by the Purple Onion along with the Veterans we will be recognizing. If you want to pay for your lunch at this meeting, make a check out to Brunswick Town, NSDAR for $9.25 and save the postage.
Important: Please volunteer for “DAR Day of Service” at Brunswick Town on Oct. 16-19 from 9:30-1:00, lunch provided. Helping the teachers with the 4th graders to learn colonial times.  Pick a day as sign-up sheets will be at the meeting. If you are unable to attend the meeting please contact Carol Jutte to sign-up.
 Committee Items you may want to bring to the meeting –
1. Coupons – DAR Project Patriot (active military) to Marian Stevens, Chair
2. DAR Schools - Box Tops for Education, used ink cartridges, give to Pat Tucker or Helen Radcliffe, Chairs. Pat also has “DAR Apple Pins” for sale.
3. DAR Service for Veterans – Please continue to bring in cancelled stamps and leave some of the envelope around the stamp for the veterans to cut the stamp out and use for therapy.
● Ongoing requests:  Men’s long sleeve t-shirts, (small, medium, 4XL, 5XL), Men’s sweatpants (4XL, 5XL) Men’s underwear (small, medium – brief), Women’s Sports Bras all sizes (one piece construction, not metal underwire), Disposable razor blades (double or triple bladed), Men’s & Women’s Deodorant, Shaving Cream, Body Wash, and Gift Cards (Wal-Mart, VISA Gift Cards) 
• Special Donations: Large Cans Coffee (regular or decaf), Sugar in Single Packets, Coffee Creamer 20oz or smaller, Single packets of Sweet & Low or Equal or Splenda
• Monetary Donations: Mental Health Intensive Case Management Fund, Christmas/Special Events Fund.  Please, no calendars. Give all items to Jeannette Hass and; Sandy Kotch who are collecting the items to bring to the VA Hospital in Fayetteville.
4. American Spirit Magazine – Bring any unwanted American Spirit magazines to Carol Sutter, Chair. 
5. Wreaths Across America – Order your wreaths. See Fran Carlsen, Chair. Date of Wreaths Across America at Wilmington is December 16, 2017 at 12:00 noon being there by 11:30 AM.
