Veteran Kay Kye is honored

The North Carolina Veterans Park is scheduled to open Monday, July 4, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in Fayetteville, and will feature bronze-cast hands of veterans from each of the state’s 100 counties as a tribute to all North Carolina veterans. Brunswick Town Chapter DAR member, Kay Kye was selected as Winnabow’s representative, along with other veteran supporters; Christopher Kluck of Leland, William Davis of Southport, Coretha Hickman of Bolivia and Paul Fisher Brunswick County veteran’s hand was cast in bronze. Congratulations, Nora Hickam, for service to the Daughters of the American Revolution since April 1985. Nora received a certificate from the Daughters of the American Revolution for the 25th Anniverisary of Memership Award, which was presented by registrar, Pat Elsaesser from the Brunswick Town Chapter of the DAR at the May 11th meeting, which was held at the New Hope Presbyterian Church, Winnabow, NC.
