DAR Meeting November 13th

The November 13, 2013 meeting of the Brunswick town Chapter of the  Daughters of the American Revolution will have a Conservation theme.  The meeting will be held on Wednesday at 10 AM in the fellowship hall of Trinity United Methodist Church, 209 East Nash Street, Southport.

Our speaker will be Ms. Barbara Rowe, Curator of the Cape Fear Museum in Wilmington.  Barbara will be giving a presentation on the preservation of old photos, newspapers, and ephemera.  The Museum has a great deal of memorabilia and photos in their own collections, and Barbara is very knowledgeable about the work it takes to preserve them. Barbara is often able to help with identifying the era that a particular photo was taken by examining the clothing used. If you have any questions contact our regent, Jackie Craft (910) 755-7563 or our registrar, Cindy Sellers (910) 457-6988.

Members are reminded to bring Christmas Cards and gifts for Veterans.

  1. Regent Jackie Craft reminds members to bring items for Crossnore school for their thrift shop and Birdcage to the meetings. The Birdcage are items for children K-12 in new or very good condition as gifts for the children.
