Invitation to Attend Open House at Prong House in Raeford, NC
The Alfred Moore Chapter NS-DAR, Southern Pines, sends the following invitation to the Mill Prong House Annual Meeting and Open House in Raeford, NC. The Mill Prong House circa 1795 was built and located near the McPhaul's Mill. It was important because, in the 1700's, there were over 20,000 Scottish immigrants to NC, making it the largest Highland Scot Settlement in America. One of the Alfred Moore Chapter members is a McPhaul descendant and the family has been apart of the preservation and revitalization of Mill Prong.
