Celebrate Constitution Week September 17-23rd

The Brunswick Town Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution is joining the national celebration of Constitution Week September 17-23rd.  The week long commemoration of America's most important document is one of our country's least known official observances.  Our Constitution stands as a testament to the tenacity of Americans throughout history to maintain their liberties and freedom, and to ensure those inalienable rights to every American.

The Brunswick Town Chapter is encouraging local schools to study the historical events which led to the framing of the Constitution by providing education materials, bulletin boards and bookmarks to fifth graders.  Our goal is to educate our citizens to know our rights, freedoms and duties as citizens by studying the Constitution. We urge our county leaders, clergy and schools to celebrate with the "Ringing the Bells of Freedom" at 4 PM on Tuesday September 17th. There is a DAR Constitution Week display in the Oak Island Library.
