Constitution Week Bulletin Board
at Virginia Williamson Elementary School

Constitution Week is September 17-23 and Sandra Winstead and Diana Fotinatos, with the support of Carol Jutte, Martha Koletar and Phyllis Wilson have planned the following events to commemorate when the Constitution was signed 231 years ago:
There will be a Constitution Week display at Harper Library in Southport during September.
Churches and Fire Stations in Southport and Oak Island will be participating in Bells Across America on Monday, 9/17 at 4:00 PM by ringing their bells.  And this year, Cub Scouts from Oak Island will be ringing the bell at the Oak Island Presbyterian Church. We invite all chapter members to request their church participate as well.  Photos are encouraged and welcome.
Mayor Deborah Ahlers of Caswell Beach will be signing and displaying a Proclamation in Town Hall for Constitution Week.
Bolivia, Southport, Supply, and Virginia Williamson Elementary Schools have been contacted about our chapter making classroom presentations, decorating bulletin boards, and distributing bookmarks to the fifth-grade students who will be studying The Constitution as part of their social studies curriculum.

Thank you to all those who have volunteered to help with bulletin boards.  And a big thank you to Sandi Winstead, the former Constitution Week Chairperson, who continues to serve our chapter on the Constitution Week Committee and does the classroom presentations each year in colonial dress.

Info provided by Martha Koletar
Keep checking for more photos and information during the week of September 17-23rd.
