District VII Meeting Held on August 1st in Wallace, NC





Patricia Poe, the very talented State Editor of our Tarheel Patriot Newsletter was in attendance.
Gwen Causey, Lisa Pomeranz, Elizabeth Graham and Carol Weiss were in attendance at the District VII meeting.
District VII Director Lisa Pomeranz presided over the meeting which included DAR Chapters assigned to District VII.

L to R: Elizabeth Graham, DAR State Regent; Lisa Pomeranz, District VII Director; Kathy Benedict, District Secretary; and Ann Jones, District Treasurer were sworn in at the Wallace United Methodist Church by Regent Elizabeth Graham at the August District VII Meeting. These ladies will hold office for a three-year term.



Denise Peters State Projects Chair and her husband were on hand to sell items supporting the state project. Denise designed the blue shirt she is holding! To support the state project go to.  These items will be available at State Conference but make also be ordered on line at the above address.


Denise Peters, NC State Project Chair for 2015-2018 reported at the district meeting that the State Regent's Project was approved at the 2016 State Conference. She was pleased to report that participation had been outstanding to this point and expressed her thanks to the North Carolina Daughters from the "Mountains to the Sea" for coming.together to accomplish one of the important objectives, working together to help provide with the development of the Art-Therapy Studio at Tamassee DAR School where children will learn to deal with trauma through arts and crafts projects. 

She reported that the1843 Susan E. Shuford Sampler, donated by te NCSDAR to the National DAR Museum, has been designated as the basis for support of the Portable Education Program, North Carolina Daughters will bring this important piece of textile history alive for children ages 10-13. Susan lived in Lincoln County, NC! Thanks to Rachel Wilson & Candace Williams for completing a historical adaptation of the 1843 Susan Shuford Sampler. Pattern & Kits will be available at NC State Conference.
