NCSDAR 113th State Conference April 26-28, 2013 in Durham, North Carolina

Row 2: Gwen Causey, Betsy Pessetto, Jackie Craft and Lisa PomeranzThe 113th North Carolina Society Daughters of the American Revolution State Conference was held on April 26-28, 2013 at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel & Conference Center in Durham, North Carolina

 Brunswick Town's DAR Chapter made donations to the Veterans, which placed us second in the state with total contributions! At State Conference we also learned that our Women’s Issues Chairman Nadine Bray and Publicity Chairman Phyllis Wilson have been selected as Southeast Regional winners for their respective committees. Also Phyllis Wilson’s Women’s Issues essay won a state award. She was named Outstanding State Public Relations & Media Chairman.  Nadine Bray, won first place in the essay contest and will be judged at National.  Also, our Brunswick Town Chapter Pamphlet was selected by Southeast Regional Winners. All of the winners will go on to National for judging award. The Brunswick Town Chapter’s yearbook received a tri-color winner.

The Trailing Daniel Boone Forum

State Conference Forum guest speaker was Randell Jones the award-winning author and storyteller.Many Daughters attended the 9:00-10:00 workshop on Friday, April 26, 2012. Then, he was available at the display tables where you had the opportunity to ask him questions and purchase his books and CD.                                                                
His latest book is Trailing Daniel Boone, 1912-1915.
