Candlewick Awards were presented to five members of Brunswick Town Chapter NSDAR at the May meeting for their community service work in 2022.

Chapter members tally their community service hours on the national website. Many activities qualify – everything from reading to school children to planting a pollinator garden to helping veterans.

The Candlewick Award for burning the candle at both ends is awarded annually by the Brunswick Town Chapter.

The awards went to Cheryl Lambert with 725 hours, Teresa McLamb with 612 hours, Joan Hall with 608 hours, Martha Koletar with 579 hours and Dee Antonio with 480 hours.

Nationally, DAR members recorded 6,591,957 hours. DAR’s service mission includes historic preservation, education, patriotism, community service and DAR work.
