Public Relations and Media Coverage - Our chapter received the 1st place winner for Commemorative Events for NC and then proceeded to be selected as a 1st place winner at the southeast division. Next, Brunswick Town won at the National level. This is the first time the chapter has won a National award for Public Relations. Martha Koletar, former Public Relations Chair is holding the award that our chapter won through her efforts.

Below are photos of the National Awards given out at the District VII meeting and presented to various people and committee chairs. There were also southeast division awards presented as well. In order to be selected as a southeast division winner the committee has to be selected as a state winner. There are over 100 DAR chapters in North Carolina. So that is quite a feat to win that award. Then the state chairman for that committee sends her presentation folder to the southeast division chair, who will be selecting awards in specific area. There are seven states that submit presentaton folders in the area of public relations. The greatest recognition is to be selected a National Winner. There are 8 different divisions in competition to be selected for a National Award.
