William Johnston State President and George Dolicker Senior State President of the NCSCAR Were Guest Speakers at the District VII Meeting in Wilmington, NC July 20, 2019

William Johnston is the new N.C.S.C.A.R State President.and has great plans for his year as president.  His project is inspired by his  family’s military background. William's family has been in the military for his entire lifetime. He has traveled locally and abroad.  He holds the USO very close to his heart and know other military familes do as well. The project is twofold. First, he hopes to raise money to fund the purchase of three new commercial-grade lounge chairs that will be placed in the Fayetteville Airport’s USO lounge. An estimated 3,000 people per month sit on the chairs at the lounge, and the ones purchased in 2011 are starting to wear out. Second, he wants to find a way to make all of our state’s C.A.R. members personally involved in the project. The group will be home making and collecting quilts and fleece tie blankets to donate to the USO, and they will distribute them to passengers and families traveling through our four NC USO airport lounges. Members will have the opportunity to learn how to piece and quilt fabric, as well as designing patterns and choosing colors. This way, even the youngest members can help. Contact William Johnston State President, and visit their website N.C.S.C.A.R. statepresident@ncscar.org for additional information.
