Photos from the February 13, 2019 DAR Meeting

February is American Heart Month

How can American Heart Month make a difference?
We can use this month to raise awareness about heart disease and how people can prevent it — both at home and in the community.
The Flag of the United States of America Chair, Deanna Antonio informed members since starting the Habitat for Humanity flag project we have given 10 flags with poles to new home owners.  The 11th flag set will be given at the end of the month.

American History Chair, Mary Beth Losch taught us about Dorothy Height, a woman of African descent. She was an administrator and educator who focused on civil rights and women’s rights. Ms. Height specifically focused on African American women’s issues. The stage play If This Hat Could Talk is based on her memoirs Open Wide the Freedom Gates.
