The Brunswick Town Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is inviting all local churches and firehouses to participate in Bells Across America to commemorate Constitution Week by ringing their bells on Saturday, September 17, 2016, at 4:00 PM for a duration of five minutes.
On Sept 17,
1787, the Constitution was signed. At 4:00 when the delegates emerged from what
is now known as Independence Hall in Philadelphia, all the bells rang AT 4:00
PM to celebrate the signing of the Constitution.
The Constitution stands as a testament to the
tenacity of Americans throughout history to maintain their liberties and
freedom, and to ensure those inalienable rights to every American. Please
join us in this national celebration of Constitution Week commemorating
America’s most important document.
