April 8, 2015 Brunswick Town DAR Meeting Held at The Reserve Golf Club in St. James Plantation

The Brunswick Town Chapter members and guests all enjoyed themselves at the Awards Meeting on April 8th, which
 was held in the Sun Room at the Reserve Golf Club in St. James Plantation, Southport, NC.

Regent, Jackie Craft presented a certificate to Nora Hickam,
for being a DAR  member for 30 years. Nora is also a  member of the Daughters of 1812, Colonial Dames 17th Century, Dames Court of Honor.

Cheryl and Don are receiving the Community Service Award for their work with Operation At Ease at St. James Plantation in Southport, NC. 

Operation At Ease is an organization that provides weekend vacation for Service Members of all branches.  Through volunteer efforts, families are given a condo or home, lots of activities, all meals are prepared for them, and they can spend a weekend relaxing at St. James, at the beach, and at our clubs. This organization is in need of volunteers.(Contact Cheryl at or Don at )

Regent, Jackie Craft presented Stacy Bennett a senior from Brunswick Early College High School with the Good Citizens Award

There were three young ladies that were selected to receive the Good Citizens Award. They were;  Stacy Bennett, a senior from Brunswick Early College High School and Callie Hucks from West Brunswick High School. Callie was the overall winner in all categories. Jessica Aguilar from North Brunswick High School was unfortunately unable to attend the awards assembly. Stacy  and Jessica received $100 each and the overall winner Callie received $125.
