The program was held in recognition of the student winners of the group’s Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps. (JROTC) scholarship awards. The DAR criterion for selection is: Cadet must demonstrate qualities of dependability and good character. A cadet must adhere to military discipline, demonstrate leadership, and have a fundamental and patriotic understanding of the importance of service to both community and country. Nora Hickam, National Defense chairman presented certificates to Stormy DeLong of West Brunswick  High School; Jordan Wrenn of South Brunswick High School, and Mayah Willis-Thomas of North Brunswick High School. Nora also presented a DAR medal and a $50 cash gift at their school assembly programs in April.

All three cadets will be attending college this year. They have been honored for their academics, Americanism, Patriotism, leadership, dedication, and hard work  while  being in the Junior ROTC. They have wonderful support from their families and friends. These were very impressive and one sees these cadets as wonderful future leaders in public life or in the military.
