Guest speaker, P. Thomas Krieger, retired attorney and graduate of U.S. Military Academy at West Point spoke about the meaning of “Old Glory” in his community and military life. This was a special honor for Tom, since he was the uncle of Richard Stewart, who lost his life on 9/11. The Stewart family, who live in Southport were instrumental in having the 9/11 flag brought to Southport’s annual July 4th parade. The flag was The Parade Marshal this year.
