9/12: J Taylor Ryan speaking on the Oyster Reef Restoration Project
10/10: Navy Seabees, Crossnore sale items and installation of new members.
11/14: NCSDAR State Regent Carole Weiss and Community Service Award
12/12: Currently no program and maybe museum outreach
1/9: CMR report and Chapter’s 43rd Birthday celebration
2/13: Currently no program, a nominating committee will be elected.
3/13: John Braswell and 2019-2021 Slate of Officers for election presented
4/10: Diane Price on DNA and election of officers for 2019-2021
5/8: Jim Johnson gave a presentation about his antique clock collection and installation of new officers

Programs for 2017-2018


All meetings will be held at Brunswick Electric, Route 17 in Supply, NC except for the January meeting which will be held at The Reserve Club at St. James Plantation.

9/13 Brooke Jackson, State Chair of Protocol will discuss DAR Protocol and Diana Fotinatos will talk about Constitution Week. At this meeting we will begin to ask members to stand and tell a little bit about themselves.  The plan is to go alphabetically through our membership list calling names.  The number of people will be based on time we have available at each meeting.

10/11 Pat Sykes will talk about the Charters of Freedom Monument which is located in front of the Brunswick Courthouse at the Brunswick Government Complex, in Bolivia. Also, Fort Johnston in Southport is doing restoration of its building and is asking for donations. (The Board has agreed to donate $100.00 for a Brick to support the Charters of Freedom Monument and $100 toward the Fort Johnston project.)

11/8 Jack Lambert will speak about the Vietnam Experience.

12/3 Martha Koletar will present An Eastern Shore Patriot’s Christmas.   The Chapter will collect books for the Brunswick Co Literacy Council at this meeting.

1/10 Our Chapter’s Birthday, Gwen Causey will talk about the Chapter History.  The CMR will be done.

2/14 Lynn Carlsen, Hope Harbor will discuss Women’s Issues.  Everyone should wear red to the meeting.

3/14 Martha Peterson, author of The Widow Spy.  Recognizing the need to give Ms. Peterson extra time to speak about her experiences as a spy in Russia during the Cold War the meeting agenda will be shortened.  Members should bring Easter baskets to this meeting.

4/11 Carl Money, a WWI re-enactor.  This is tentative.  The Yearbook will say WWI History.

5/9 John Braswell on a Colony Divided.  This is tentative.


The January 13, 2018 meeting will be at The Reserve, St. James, NC.  All other meetings will be at BEMC, Supply, NC.  Some lunches at BEMC may be catered sandwiches or pot luck.
All meeting will be at Brunswick Electric in Shallotte except the January meeting will be held at St. James Plantation at the Reserve Club including lunch.

March 8, 2017               Program:  The guest speaker will be E Giford Stark. The presentation will be "LightHouses Before, During and After the Revolutionary War. Please start bringing Easter Baskets or Easter items for the students at DAR Crossnore School. Please do not have nuts in them due to allergies. Our goal is for 85 baskets.
